| Connectors
For our instrument cables we exclusively use the high quality 1/4"
plugs produced by Neutrik. We suggest carefully choosing the kind
of connector that suits you best:
- straight 1/4" plug
- 90° angled 1/4" plug (towards instrument)
- straight Silent Plug
- 90° angled Silent Plug (towards instrument)
Using a 90° right angle plug will often reduce the mechanical
stress on the instrument as well as on the cable. Guitarists who
want to frequently change instruments live on stage will appreciate
the advantage of a Silent Plug avoiding annoying pops and squeals
when hot swapping guitars.
Cable Lengths
Though we do like to sell long cables, shorter ones offer better
sound quality! Many properties of cables are directly linked to
their length. As a result, shorter cables cause less sound alteration.
In the case of instrument cables the effect is especially noticeable.
Separation Of Different Functions
A signal conductor has the function of transmitting sound signals,
whereas the screen protects from noise and interference. The ground
conductor, if used at the same time as the screen, can fulfill its
function as reverse signal conductor only imperfectly. For this
reason, VOVOX® sound conductors have an additional ground conductor
with a structure identical to the signal conductors’.
Cable Direction
To attain the optimal result, it is worth taking care to connect
VOVOX® sound conductors correctly aligned: Connect the end of
the cable marked with the VOVOX® label to the signal receiver
(e.g. the amp).
